Last month I co-organised an event between the Royal Geographical Society’s Food Geographies Research Group and the Institute of Food Science and Technology.

Earlier this month I arrived in Stockholm for two months of fieldwork.

This week I head to the Centre for Global Sustainability at the University of Oslo, where I will attend a workshop about the REPLACE project.

This month I am busy preparing lectures and seminars for an undergraduate course on the Geographies of Nature.

I am organising an in-person session at the RGS-IBG Annual International Conference

I recently learned that my proposed paper for the British Sociological Association’s 2026 conference was accepted.

I read two fascinating books this month about how the diets of immigrant groups have shaped, and been shaped by, the foodways of the places they have moved to.

Yesterday I attended the annual conference of the Institute of Food Science and Technology (IFST) in Nottingham.

This week is the project kick-off for REPLACE: Meat replacement and systems of edibility in Asia and beyond.

Next week Mike Foden (University of Bristol) and I are co-organising / co-chairing a session at the ESA RN05 Midterm Conference at Charles University.
